JAMJOOM PHARMA TO BUILD AN INTEGRATED SPECIALIZED DESTINATION HOSPITAL IN KING ABDULLAH ECONOMIC CITY

KAEC, January 19th 2019:

King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) signed an agreement with Jamjoom Pharma to develop a specialized destination hospital on 100,000 square meters of land. Initially the hospital will comprise of 150 beds, expandable to 500 beds upon completion of the remaining development phases.

“We are honored that our partners Jamjoom Pharma chose to build the hospital in KAEC. Their decision to do so stems from their confidence in the city’s status, its ambitious future, and its strategic location which connects it to all western province cities in under an hour. This is in addition to the city’s prominent role in realizing Vision 2030 through having all the components for an ideal quality of life, as well as the attractive and competitive environment provided by the city for its variety of investors and the ease of conducting business in KAEC.” Said KAEC Group CEO Mr. Ahmed Linjawy.

For his part, Chief Healthcare and Education Officer at KAEC Mr. Mazen Tammar explained: “The new hospital will be a key addition to our healthcare services system currently provided through the Family Medical Center. Together they will offer a complete spectrum of healthcare services providing one-of-a-kind medical and rehabilitation services.”

He went on to say: “The Healthcare Division of KAEC aims to become one of the leading regional healthcare destinations for specialized treatments, located in a modern residential environment complete with world class social, sports, and educational facilities. The new hospital will employ the highest international quality standards through being managed by a global operator in order to benefit from international expertise and the transfer of the latest healthcare technologies to the Kingdom.”

Construction is expected to start mid-2021 and development works will be completed by the end of 2024. The project is estimated to create 500 jobs during its first few years of operation and more than 800 jobs upon completion of the various development phases.
