Residents of King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) enjoy a varied menu of amenities. Perhaps none is as important as The World Academy (TWA), the city’s first K-12 school. TWA offers the International American curriculum with a strong values-based culture that promotes the standards and principles of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The World Academy is managed by GEMS Education, a leader in elite private education. The campus, which is 100 percent wireless, is comprised of a series of learning zones, fully equipped with interactive whiteboards, computer access, a multi-purpose theatre for performing arts, a multipurpose hall for sports and assemblies, a swimming pool complex, fully-functioning health clinics, and a soccer field. The World Academy opened in 2012 to accommodate 246 students. At the completion of Phase II of the school’s construction, TWA will have room to educate 2260 male and female students, ranging in age from 3 years old (for pre-K education) to 18 years of age. Within the curriculum of TWA are programs that are exclusive to the school, available at no other institution in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. These include:

• The English Language Learners Program is available for students in Grades 1 through 8 as an immersive language program wherein students are taught in English in courses across their general curriculum.
• The Talented and Gifted Program provides accelerated education for students with exceptional academic abilities.
• The Achievement Center is an inclusive program designed to meet the specific educational needs of students who may have different learning styles.
