STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP FORMED BETWEEN ECONOMIC CITY AND GENERAL ENTERTAINMENT AUTHORITY TO ESTABLISH JUMAN CARNIVAL ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICT

Memorandum of Understanding Signed During Prince Khaled Al-Faisal’s Visit to KAEC

King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) and the General Entertainment Authority signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the establishment of Juman Carnival; an integrated entertainment and touristic district in KAEC.

Signing the memorandum were KAEC Group CEO and Managing Director Mr. Fahd bin Abdul Mohsen Al-Rasheed and General Entertainment Authority CEO Eng. Amr bin Saleh Al-Madany, in the presence of the Governor of Mecca and Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, HRH Prince Khaled Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The memorandum was signed during the visit of HRH Prince Khaled Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to KAEC on Wednesday, in line with KAEC and the General Entertainment Authority’s bid to strengthen their cooperation for the development of the entertainment sector in the Kingdom in general, and in KAEC in specific, by executing value-adding initiatives to provide a suitable recreational environment for families.

Juman Carnival will be dedicated to outdoor social events, activities and celebrations, and will feature a variety of fun games for the entire family. It will also allocate a special area for diverse food carts, as well as a 4D Theater to offer a rich entertainment experience for people of all age groups.

Both Al-Rasheed and Al-Madany stressed their commitment to the highest safety, quality and environmental standards in designing and executing every element of Juman Carnival. They also stated that the designs would take into account people with special needs and their transportation within the area, as well as ensuring that all the entertainment elements provided would serve all segments of society.

“One of the most important success factors Vision 2030 relies on is the Kingdom’s strategic geographical location, as it constitutes a center linking three continents and surrounded by the most important maritime crossings. The vision also focuses on activating the role of the private sector in achieving its goals,” said Al-Rasheed. “KAEC represents a model of partnerships between the private public sectors; for the first time ever, the private sector is playing the main role in development, operations and funding. Today we are able, God willing, to be one of the bright examples of this ambitious national vision with its different sectors.”

Al-Rasheed noted that KAEC is becoming the most exclusive emerging entertainment front on the Red Sea, thereby supporting the Kingdom’s tourism and entertainment sector, which would contribute to achieving the desired social and economic development. He added that the tourism and entertainment sector would provide a number of employment opportunities for the Kingdom’s sons and daughters, including the graduates of the Tomouh training program.

On this occasion, Al-Madany stated, “Designing this integrated entertainment district, in cooperation with KAEC, is an extension of the success of previous events organized by the General Entertainment Authority in KAEC, which is considered one of the best locations for event hosting in the Kingdom.”

He pointed out the role this strategic partnership plays in promoting the authority’s efforts in developing and supporting the sector, and providing entertainment options that meet the needs of Saudis and those residing in the Kingdom.

Al-Madany emphasized the importance of cooperating with KAEC in strengthening partnerships between the private and public sectors and offering employment opportunities for Saudi youth in parallel with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and its goals of improving the lives of its citizens.

During his visit, HRH Prince Khaled Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud inaugurated three development projects for the entertainment and tourism sector at KAEC; Juman Park, Marina & Yacht Club and the Bay La Sun Club –in addition to announcing seven more projects currently underway; Juman Carnival, the Culinary Arts Academy Project, the Floating Water Park, Beachside Hotel Apartments, Exclusive Desert Camps, the Hot Air Balloon and the Conference and Exhibition Center.
