The integrated, multi-model transportation system in KAEC will consist of a world-class container sea port, modern railways for passenger and freight as well as excellent roadways. The planned Saudi Land Bridge rail project between Jeddah and Riyadh, the Makkah-Madinah high speed rail and the north-south rail link to the eastern coast of the country, meant for a combination of freight movement and passengers, will connect KAEC by rail to all major cities in the Kingdom.

External links from KAEC to other parts of the country will be achieved through a series of strategically constructed expressways within KAEC, which will connect to the existing Jeddah-Yanbu highway. Public transportation within the city will include bus, taxi and water transit systems complemented by well-networked roads and mass rapid transit systems.

The water and power supply to KAEC and its population will be from two de-salination plants and two power plants, constructed adjacent to the sea port.






These plants will feed water and electricity to the distribution systems that will meet the demands of the city.

The telecommunications network in the city will facilitate voice, data, video streaming and security applications over a converged network to cater for telephone, internet, data and other systems over the same backbone. This will provide an integrated network infrastructure that will support public services, transport efficiency as well as home automation.



The network will eliminate a number of mundane tasks related to building management systems resulting in cost savings and increased convenience.
