Phase 1 of the development of KAEC extends over a 5 year period from 2006 to 2011. Over this period, the initial projects, which will be constructed at different pockets of the planned city are:

The sea port is visualized to be one of the major wheels driving the economy at KAEC. As a result, Phase 1 of the city development will focus on the construction of some of the basic framework to support local cargo, which will start the wheels of progress moving in this region.

Another engine that will add momentum to the pace of progress at KAEC is the industrial zone. During the current phase, the construction of this zone will concentrate on logistic and distribution centers as well as worker accommodations and amenities to support the construction activities.

City Districts
City DistrictsThe city districts represent the combined core of convenience and luxury that is uniquely KAEC. Each city district is designed to be a complete social unit with homes, schools, medical facilities, offices, shopping and entertainment all integrated into one community.

Phase 1 will see the development of a couple of integrated living communities at different sections of the city. It will comprise of water-front apartments and resort type community developments, totaling to about 3.7 million sq m across two districts – the luxurious Bay La Sun and breathtaking Esmeralda.
